Zaxby's check presentation to Glendale AcresZaxby’s Shows Support for Glendale Acres Elementary School and PTA

The Parent-Teacher Association of Glendale Acres Elementary School PTA held a School Spirit Night on September 19, 2019, at Zaxby’s on Walter Reed Road.  As a result, Rod Pass of Zaxby’s recently visited the school to present a check to the PTA.  PTA Board members Amber Barge (and daughter) and Deborah Dowd received the check on behalf of the school and PTA.  The Glendale Acres family is very appreciative of Zaxby’s community support of education!

Storyteller using hands for storyStoryteller David Novak Visits Glendale Acres Elementary

Thanks to a matching “Artists in Schools” grant with Glendale Acres’ Parent Teacher Association and The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, students and staff were treated to a wonderful storytelling assembly on October 29.  This was the first time that David Novak had performed for the Fayetteville Arts Council and he truly enjoyed his experience at Glendale Acres.  David has performed across the country and he was a Master Storyteller for the Disney Institute at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.  He has written four picture books and made seven audio recordings.  His assembly entitled First Books in hands and strings was well received by the Glendale Acres Academy family and they are most grateful.

This project is supported by the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County with funds from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Cumberland County Schools and private contributions.
