Cumberland County Schools celebrated National School Breakfast Week from March 6-10, 2017.  Students were encouraged to “Take the Challenge” and eat breakfast in the cafeteria daily.  Those who participated could place their name in a raffle for prizes to be given away at the end of the week.  Moreover, the Glendale Acres Elementary School family was honored to have Fayetteville  Mayor Nat Robertson and Cumberland County Commissioner Michael Boose serve breakfast to their students on March 9, 2017.  The students and staff truly enjoyed this wonderful visit and appreciate their community support of education.

Two Time Parents’ Choice Award Winner Performs at Glendale Acres Elementary School

On Friday, March 3, 2017, the staff, students, and parents of Glendale Acres Elementary School enjoyed an exciting end to their fun week of “Read Across America” activities.  Traveling storyteller, writer, and artist, Vicky Town presented a highly energetic and interactive assembly for the entire school family.  The program was made possible thanks to a matching Artists in Schools grant from the Arts Council and the school’s PTA.   “The Arts Council Artists in Schools program is supported in part by the Cumberland County Schools, the North Carolina Arts Council, the City of Fayetteville, and Cumberland County.”
